Call for Expressions of Interest (EoI) in Hosting the International Symposium on Sensor Science I3S 2019 and 2021

The I3S Steering Committee seeks Expression of Interest (EoI) from bidder host Universities, Organizations and/or Cities for the I3S Symposium series. Bids from all geographic areas can be submitted.

Important Dates

The I3S Steering Committee is accepting EoI until 31 December 2017.

Facts

Bidders must have the facility to organize and host a three-day symposium of roughly 150-300 participants including

  • easy access to the symposium venues and the capability to offer a wide range of services such as catering, WLAN and internet services, organization of a social events.
  • bidders must be able to cover all costs with registration fees and sponsoring
  • the conference website, the registration management and payments must be done by sciforum.net

Expression of Interest Instructions

  1. EoIs must be submitted by 31 December 2017 by email to vazquez@mdpi.com and burkhalter@mdpi.com.
  2. Questions or any other inquiries should be sent to the I3S Committee Chair Dr. Franck Vazquez
  3. The length of the EoIs should not exceed 1-2 A4 pages and should include:
    • Name(s) of the bidder(s) including contact and short bio
    • Email address(es)
    • The name of the planned Symposium venue including the infrastructure of the center and city
    • Year (2019 or 2021)
  4. After reviewing all bids the I3S Steering Committee will invite a couple of institutions to submit a detailed proposal by 31 January 2018.

About The International Symposium on Sensor Science I3S

2003 Paris/France, 2004 Nanjing/China, 2005 Jülich/Germany and 2015 Basel/Switzerland I3S has organized 4 editions. The next issue will be held from 27-29 September 2017 in Barcelona/Spain. The conference format is designed to promote plenty of interaction between scientists and engineers from different disciplines as an opportunity to discuss important breakthroughs in sensor technology and related fields; broaden your knowledge, meet sensor scientists from other areas and perhaps develop new mutually beneficial collaborations.
