Media Release - The 5th World Sustainability Forum in Basel
The 5th World Sustainability Forum (WSF 2015) will take place at the Zentrum für Lehre und Forschung in Basel, 7–9 September 2015. The Forum is organized by MDPI and the University of Basel. The organizers, headed by Prof. Manfred Max Bergman, have put together an outstanding program to highlight the most significant sustainability challenges currently facing the global community.
Four distinguished keynote lecturers will contribute to the Forum:
Prof. Jeffrey D. Sachs, Director of The Earth Institute, Professor of Health Policy and Management at Columbia University, Director of the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network, and Special Advisor to United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon on the Millennium Development Goals, will give a live video conference from his office in New York. Prof. Klaus Leisinger, President of the Global Values Alliance Foundation and Professor of Sociology of University of Basel; Dr. Aldo Stroebel, Executive Director, International Relations and Cooperation, National Research Foundation, South Africa; and Prof. Marc A. Rosen, Professor at the University of Ontario Institute of Technology, in Canada, Editor-in-Chief of the Open Access journal Sustainability, and Chair of the four previous electronic editions of the World Sustainability Forum will join us in Basel.
The 5th World Sustainability Forum comprises 226 presentations across five main thematic streams. It will bring together more than 350 participants from 45 countries.
