Brain Metastasis

Brain metastasis is the stage of cancer resulting from cancer cell colonization of the brain. Brain metastasis represents a compendium of devastating diseases arising from several cancer types since mostly fatal because of the extremely poor prognosis when compared to primary cancers treatment. Furthermore, mechanisms underlying brain metastasis remain largely unknown.

To assess, report, and discuss new discoveries in the biology, pathology and treatment of brain metastasis, we launched the Special Issue "Brain Metastasis" in the International Journal of Molecular Sciences in 2012, having continued it in 2014. Under the leadership of Professor Dario Marchetti (Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, Texas, USA) as our Guest Editor, this Special Issue has attracted a great interest from active researchers and scholars in the field, with 25 published manuscripts at highest scientific level. All papers can be accessed freely online. This open discussion group has been established as a forum to further exchange ideas and challenges facing the field, and to provide comments on "Brain Metastasis".

On behalf of our Guest Editor, Professor Dario Marchetti, we invite you to join and follow this discussion group.
