Dr. Andrew Lapthorn

Information

Andrew Lapthorn received the B.E. (Hons.) and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from the University of Canterbury, Christchurch, New Zealand, in 2008 and 2012, respectively. He is currently a Senior Lecturer in electric machines with the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Canterbury, where he also manages the High Voltage Laboratory. His current research interests include rotating electric machines and transformer design and modeling, high-voltage insulation systems, and renewable energy systems. He is a member of Engineering New Zealand and the Electricity Engineers’ Association, New Zealand.
