Dr. Boukary SAWADOGO

Short Biography

Boukary Sawadogo joined 2iE in 2010 as a research engineer in water and sanitation. Previously, he worked as the Head of the Environmental Control and Public Hygiene Department for the National Public Health Laboratory (LNSP) of Burkina Faso. Currently, he is an Assistant Professor in Water and Sanitation and the head of the specialized master's in the Non-Sewered Sanitation Program. He is also the lead of knowledge capitalization and lessons learned from dissemination activity within the FILE IN AFRICA program (Inclusive Training of Leaders and Entrepreneurs in Engineering for Africa), a scholarship program funded by the Mastercard Foundation for Inclusiveness in Higher Education. Boukary Sawadogo holds a PhD on water science from the 2iE institute and the University of Montpellier. His thesis work focused on the application of membrane technologies for the treatment of industrial wastewater under Sahelian climatic conditions. He is a member of the Laboratory for Water, Hydro-Systems and Agriculture (LEHSA). His research activities are focused on the characterization of water pollution, adaptation of innovative water treatment technology and wastewater treatment for reclamation, and resource recovery.
