Ricardo Mateus completed a doctorate (2009) and Master's degree (2004) in Civil Engineering at the University of Minho, where he is an Assistant Professor. He is a member of the Technical Committee of the International Initiative for the Sustainability of the Built Environment (iiSBE). He is also a member of the Technical Committee for Standardization CT 171 (Sustainability in Buildings) of the IPQ. He has published more than 150 articles in scientific journals and international and national conferences. He is the author and co-author of 37 books and book chapters and one international patent and supervises several Master's and doctoral students.
