My research focuses on contextual and ecology-informed design, novel and restored ecosystems, and green places in cities. I have collaborated on community-based regenerative projects in sub-Sahara Africa, south Asia, South America and Europe. I teach a variety of studios at graduate and undergraduate levels, focusing on sustainable spatial design and engaging in and with underserved communities. In 2017 I was appointed Distinguished Professor in Penn State's College of Arts and Architecture.
