Dr. Al-Faraj is currently the Programme leader of the Master by Research (MRes) in Environmental Management at the School of Engineering, University of Bolton, United Kingdom, supervisor of Discipline Research Projects of undergraduate students, and MSc Dissertation and PhD study support at the University of Bolton and the University of Salford, United Kingdom. Dr. Al-Faraj has supervised more than 50 undergraduate students and more than 200 postgraduate students at both the University of Bolton and the University of Salford. He has a proven track record of publishing papers in peer-reviewed journals, such as the Journal of Hydrology, Water Resources Management, Water, Water Policy, Environmental Processes, the Journal of Water and Climate Change, and the Environmental Engineering and Management Journal. He is an international research reviewer serving several peer-reviewed Journals. Dr. Al-Faraj is a Fellow of the Institute of Water (FIWater) and a Fellow of the Advance Higher Education (FHEA) in the United Kingdom. He is a member of the European Water Resources Association (MEWRA), MICE-British Hydrological Society, MICE-British Dams Society, and a member of the Chartered Institution of Water and Environment (MCIWEM). Dr. Al-Faraj worked with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) as an International Water Resources Consultant and Dam Safety Expert between 2015 and 2020.
