Dr. David Poyatos

Short Biography

David Poyatos Martínez was born in Madrid, Spain, in 1972. He received his MSc degree in telecommunication engineering from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM) in 1998 and his PhD in telecommunication engineering from the University of Alcala in 2017. From 1997 to 1999, he was an undergraduate research assistant at the Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Area at INTA (National Institute for Aerospace Technology). In 1999, he joined the Department of Radiofrequency and Electronic Technologies at INTA, being the head of the Detectability Laboratory from 2006 to 2012. From 2012 to 2015, he was the head of the Communications, Navigation, and Radar Area and, since 2015, he has been in charge of the Radiofrequency Area. His current research activities and interest are both in the field of high-resolution radar and in the area of computational electromagnetics (CEM); in particular, the simulation, measurement, and analysis of radar cross sections; the electromagnetic (EM) characterization of materials; and the application of EM software tools to EMC problems. He has also actively participated in the design, commission, and operation of different facilities for EM measurements, highlighting the development of innovative and versatile measurement systems. In these fields of knowledge, he has authored more than 15 articles in referenced journals and has contributed with more than 30 papers in technical conferences.
