Prof. Marta Correia-Da-Silva

Marta Correia-da-Silva qualified in Pharmaceutical Sciences with a B.Sc. (2003) and subsequently went on to complete an M.Sc. in Quality Control of Plant and Drug Substances (2006), and five years later she obtained a Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical and Medicinal Chemistry (2011) from the Faculty of Pharmacy of University of Porto (FFUP), Portugal. After the doctoral fellowship, she received another fellowship from the FCT to pursue post-doctoral studies (2011-2014). Since 2014, Marta Correia-da-Silva has been an Assistant Professor of Organic and Medicinal Chemistry at the FFUP and an Integrated Research Member of the Interdisciplinary Centre of Marine and Environmental Research (CIIMAR). In 2019, she was nominated to be the Coordinator of the Peer Mentoring Program in her faculty and, in 2020, she became a mentor in the Young Scientists Network Mentoring Programme of the European Federation for Medicinal Chemistry and Chemical Biology. In the last 5 years her scientific work was awarded in 12 national and international scientific congresses and was the responsible inventor of 6 international patent applications in the antifouling field.
