Sophie Laurent is an Associate Professor at the General, Organic and Biomedical Chemistry Laboratory, University of Mons, Belgium. Her studies were performed at the University of Mons-Hainaut (Belgium) where she received her Ph.D. in Chemistry in 1993. Her research interests include the Development of new lanthanide complexes for MRI and optical imaging: synthesis, purification (HPLC), and physicochemical characterization, Superparamagnetic nanoparticles synthesis, vectorization of nanosystems for targeting of different pathologies with active biological vectors, Studies of interaction between contrast agents and biological receptors, and Multimodal imaging studies.
