Prof. Torsten Wagner

Short Biography

Torsten Wagner is a full professor at the Institute of Nano- and Biotechnologies, Aachen University of Applied Sciences. He received his M.Sc. in Model Simulation and Control at Coventry University and his Ph.D. at the FH Aachen. He was an Assistant Professor at Tohoku University from 2010 to 2012. He conducts research in the field of semiconductor-based chemical sensors and biosensors, including light-addressable potentiometric sensors (LAPS), electrolyte insulator semiconductor sensors (EIS) and ion-sensitive field effect sensors (ISFETs). He is also interested in the investigation of modern signal acquisition and data evaluation by means of "smart" algorithms like artificial neural networks (ANN), fuzzy logic, principal component analysis (PCA), etc.
