Professor Gunther Notni is currently a University Professor at Ilmenau University of Technology, leading the Group for Quality Assurance and Industrial Image Processing since his appointment in 2019. He completed his studies in Physics at Friedrich-Schiller-Universität Jena, earning a Dipl./Phys. degree in Coherence Optics in 1988 and his Ph.D. in 1992. Professor Notni's career at the Fraunhofer IOF Jena began in 1992, where he led the Optical Systems Department from 1994 to 2019 and currently holds a position as Senior Director in Sensing and Metrology.
