Dr. Liubov Zelena

Liubov Zelena works as the Senior Researcher at the Zabolotny Institute of Microbiology and Virology, National Academy of Sciences (NAS) of Ukraine. She graduated from Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, Ukraine and received a master's degree in Biochemistry (qualification - molecular biology) in 1998. Working in the Institute of Cell Biology and Genetic Engineering, NAS of Ukraine Liubov Zelena defended PhD thesis and got PhD degree in genetics in 2008. Her main scientific interests cover phylogenetics, bioinformatics, radioecology, genome variability /instability, structural and functional diversity, genome organizations, regulation of gene expression, influence of biotic and abiotics stresses, metagenomic analysis of bacterial and yeast microbiota, populational heterogeneity of microoorganisms, molecular aspects of adaptive strategies of organisms. She was the holder of several grants and scholarship from NAS of Ukraine and Swedish Institute. She is a member of the Vinogradskyi Society of Microbiologists of Ukraine, the reviewer of Ukrainian and foreign scientific journals.
