Isabel Fernandez de Castro

Short Biography

Dr. Fernández de Castro gained a Degree in Biology (Genetics) in 2008 and a PhD in Biology from the Complutense University of Madrid in 2014. In 2010 she joined the Cell Structure Laboratory (CSL) of the National Biotechnology Center where she developed her PhD project. In 2012 she worked at the Plant Pathology Department, University of Kentucky, USA. She is currently a postdoctoral scientist in the CSL. Dr. Fernández de Castro uses advanced light and electron microscopy methods to investigate the biogenesis and architecture of viral factories assembled by RNA viruses.
