Dr. Cristina Risco is a group leader and head of the Cell Structure Laboratory at the National Center for Biotechnology, one of the institutes of the National Research Council of Spain. She obtained her Ph.D. in biology from the Complutense University of Madrid, conducted postdoctoral research at the National Cancer Institute (NCI-FCRDC, NIH, MD, USA) and worked as a visiting scientist at the Max Plank Institute for Biochemistry (Martinsried, Germany), the Université Pierre et Marie Curie and the Institut Jacques Monod (Paris, France). Dr. Risco’s research makes use of current developments in imaging technology to study virus-host interactions.
