Prof. Itamar M Lensky

Itamar Lensky holds a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Physics (1991), a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Atmospheric Sciences (1994), and a Ph.D. in Atmospheric Sciences (2004) from The Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Israel. Since 2004, Itamar has been a faculty member at the Department of Geography and Environment at Bar-Ilan where he was chair of the department from 2016 to 2019. He is currently a professor and the head of the remote sensing and GIS lab. His main research areas are satellite remote sensing of the environment, atmospheric science and specifically, surface temperature (land, vegetation, sea), the effects of atmospheric processes at different scales on surface temperature and heat fluxes, and their implications on natural, urban and agricultural systems, and on health.
