Dr. João Domingos Galamba Correia

Information

João D. G. Correia graduated in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Lisbon, Portugal (1991). He pursued his Ph.D. in Inorganic Chemistry with Prof. W. A. Herrmann at the Technical University of Munich, Germany, studying rhenium oxides as oxidation catalysts (1997). In the next year, he moved to the former Instituto Tecnológico e Nuclear, Sacavém, Portugal, where he was a postdoctoral fellow in the laboratory of Prof. Isabel Santos. From 2000 - 2006 he worked as Invited Assistant Researcher, and since 2006 was appointed Principal Researcher in the same group. He is author or co-author of more than 90 articles published in international peer-reviewed journals and more than 80 communications in national and international conferences. He is also co-inventor in three international patents. His h-index (Web of knowledge - Thomson Reuters, March 2021) is 28. He has supervised several Master and PhD students. Visiting Professor at the Technical University of Munich - TUM, Faculty of Chemistry and Catalysis Research Center, Molecular Catalysis, under the frame of an August-Wilhelm Scheer Visiting Professorship 2017 - TUM, Munich, Germany. The current research interests include the synthesis and biological evaluation of radiolabeled biologically active peptides and antibodies for nuclear molecular imaging and/or systemic radiotherapy. Another relevant area of research comprises also the study of metal-based agents for cancer Theranostics.
