Dr. Pavel A. Salyuk is a Head of the Laboratory of Satellite Oceanography and Laser Sensing in the V.I.Il’ichev Pacific Oceanological Institute of the Far Eastern Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences (POI FEB RAS), Vladivostok, Russia. He graduated from the Physics of Atoms and Molecules Department at the Far Eastern State University, Vladivostok, Russia, with a degree in Physics in 2003. He received a PhD degree in optics at the POI FEB RAS. From 2003 to the present, Pavel has been working at POI FEB RAS and has been a member of numerous oceanographic expeditions. His research interests are in the development of satellite bio-optical algorithms, operational optical methods for studying the functioning of phytoplankton communities, and in the study of various scale manifestations of hydrophysical and hydrobiological processes in sea remote sensing data.
