Majored in Pharmaceutical Sciences in 1998 at the Central University of Las Villas (UCLV), Cuba (recognized in Spain). Earned a Master's degree in Biochemistry from the Medicine School “Dr. Zerafin Ruiz de Zarate Ruiz”, Cuba (2009). PhD in Biology awarded with honors by the Universidade do Porto (UP), Portugal (2013). Auxiliary researcher funded by the FCT at CIIMAR (2017 - up to now), UP. Research interests lie in the development of alignment-free methodologies addressing bioinformatics, molecular evolution and drug development.
