Gregor Wolbring is a tenured full Professor at the University of Calgary’s Cumming School of Medicine (Community Health Science, Program in Community Rehabilitation and Disability Studies) and since July, 2023 the academic director (disability and accessibility) at the University of Calgary Office for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion. He is presently also a member of the Institute for Technology Assessment and Systems Analysis (ITAS), Karlsruhe, Germany and a senior fellow of the Institute for Science, Society and Policy, University of Ottawa, Canada. Some of his academic areas of engagement are ability studies including governance of ability expectations, disability studies, governance of emerging and existing sciences and technologies (recent ones artificial intelligence, robotic and quantum technologies), impact of science and technology on disabled people/people with disabilities, the governance of bodily enhancement, sustainability issues, equity, diversity and inclusion, burnout, allyship and sport.
