Oscar Reutter is responsible for research organization and the PhD program of the Wuppertal Institute. He is also appointed Honorary Professor on „Environment and Transport“ at the Faculty for Architecture and Civil Engineering of the University of Wuppertal, where he gives lectures on “sustainable urban development”. Oscar Reutter studied Urban and Regional Planning at the University of Dortmund. In 1995 he received his PhD from the Faculty of Urban and Regional Planning for his dissertation of ecological mobility and urban renewal. Since 01.10.2015 he is deputy head of the “Center on transformation research and sustainability“ (TransZent), which is a cooperation of the University of Wuppertal and the Wuppertal Institute. His research issues are mobility and transport, urban & regional development and environmental quality. Focal points are: goals and indicators of ecological transport, integrated urban development and transport planning, climate protection and urban transport, real world experiments, model projects and pilot projects on environmentally friendly transport development, cooperative planning processes between state and municipal actors, companies and civil society.
