Dr. Jeremy WakefordQuantum Global Research Lab
Jeremy Wakeford is an economist at Quantum Global Research Lab, a Swiss-based independent think tank with an Africa focus. He holds Master's Degrees in Economics from the Universities of Cape Town and Cambridge, and obtained his PhD in Sustainable Development from Stellenbosch University, South Africa. His research interests focus on the green economy, sustainable development, energy transitions and macroeconometrics. Dr Wakeford is appointed as an Extraordinary Senior Lecturer in the School of Public Leadership at Stellenbosch University, and was formerly a Senior Lecturer in the School of Economics at the University of Cape Town, where he taught courses on econometrics, development economics and the history of economic thought. He is co-editor of a book entitled "Greening the South African Economy" and author of the book "Preparing for Peak Oil in South Africa" as well as several book chapters, journal articles and research reports. Dr Wakeford has also served as a consultant to international organisations, several national government departments in South Africa, and a range of private sector clients.
