María Hernández is a full professor of geography at the Interuniversity Institute of Geography, University of Alicante. Her research interests, initiated in 1994, are focused on analysis and evolution of rural and cultural landscapes, agriculture and rural development, tourism and local development, land management, demand and water uses, and natural hazards.
