Anake Kijjoa is a Professor of Chemistry at the Biomedical Sciences Institute Abel Salazar (ICBAS) and is head of the “Chemistry and Biological Activities of Marine Natural Products Research group” at the Interdisciplinary Centre of Marine and Environmental Research (CIIMAR) of the University of Porto, Portugal. His research interests focus on the isolation, structure elucidation, and biological activity of natural products from plants, marine sponges, soil, marine fungi, and medicinal plants used in traditional medicine. He is an associate editor of the journal "Marine Drugs" and is a member of the Editorial Advisory Board of various journals in the field of natural products, including molecules. He is a co-author of more than 185 original research papers and several book chapters.
