Carla Fernandes is an assistant professor at the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Porto. She received her degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences in 2002, her master's in Control of Quality, Drugs and Medicinal Plants in 2006, and her Ph.D. in Medicinal Chemistry in 2012, from the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Porto. She is also an integrated member at CIIMAR. Her research interests focus on the design and synthesis of bioactive chiral compounds, including marine natural compounds development of chiral stationary phases for liquid chromatography. She has 58 publications with 1265 citations and an h-index of 23 (Scoups, 6 November 2023).
