Prof. Yikai Su

Short Biography

Yikai Su received a Ph.D. degree in EE from Northwestern University, Evanston, Illinois, USA in 2001. Subsequently, he worked at Crawford Hill Laboratory of Bell Laboratories, where he conducted research on high-speed transmission at 40–160 Gb/s and packet switching. He joined Shanghai Jiao Tong University in 2004, where he is now a full professor and the director of the Optical Transmission and Integrated Photonics group. He is a senior member of IEEE and a fellow of OSA. He also serves the Photonics Society as the Shanghai chapter chair. He has 676 publications with 7766 citations and an h-index of 44 (Scopus, 11 November 2023). His current research topics cover silicon photonic devices, and datacenter interconnects and switching. Recently, his group proposed and demonstrated silicon photonic multiplexing and switching in wavelength, polarization, and mode, and studied short-reach transmission for datacenter interconnects.
