Zhiping Zhou received his PhD in Electrical Engineering from Georgia
Institute of Technology, USA in 1993. He is now a distinguished professor
at Peking University, China, and a distinguished principal investigator in
Shanghai Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics, Chinese Academy of
Sciences, China, focusing on silicon-based optoelectronics and microsystems research and development.
