Margarida L. R. Liberato is an Associate Professor in Climate Physics at the University of Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro, Portugal, and a senior researcher at the Institute Dom Luiz (IDL), University of Lisbon. She completed her Ph.D. degree in Physics (Meteorology) at the Faculty of Sciences, University of Lisbon, in 2008. Dr. Liberato has been working on several aspects of atmospheric sciences, mainly in mid-latitude meteorology and climatology, with special focus on extreme events and natural hazards (windstorms, floods, droughts) and climate variability. She is a Member of the European Geophysical Union and the American Geophysical Union. She has participated as a PI in several funded projects such as “Mid-Latitude North Atlantic Extreme Storms Variability: Diagnosis, Modelling Dynamical Processes and Related Impacts on Iberia” (STORMEx). She serves or has served regularly as reviewer for multiple journals and funding agencies.

Margarida L. R.
