Prof. Dr. Valeri Mladenov Introduction |
1.00pm-1.30pm |
Prof. Dr. Huai Wang The Application of AI for Condition and Health Monitoring of Power Electronic Converters Abstract: Condition and health monitoring is an important reliability engineering tool for realizing operation optimization, predictive maintenance, and high availability of power electronic converters. This webinar will discuss how AI can help to develop robust and cost-effective solutions for estimating the operation status and wear out conditions of key power electronic components. A few examples will be used to illustrate the latest research outcomes and future research opportunities. |
1.30pm-2.00pm |
Prof. Dr. Georgi Radulov Artificial intelligence in modern redundant systems Abstract: This webinar discusses the needs for artificial intelligence in modern redundant systems, such as hybrid phased-arrays. The discussion centers on the points of view of the CMOS data-converters. Two examples illustrate how AI can support performance at both low circuit and high application levels. The first example shows a novel beam-forming sigma-delta modulator designed for hybrid phased-array systems and how the AI intelligence can set its coefficients to maximize interferer suppression and emphasize target tracking. The second example discusses the errors in high-speed digital to analog converters and what the limitations are of the existing calibration algorithms. Both examples motivate the use of AI in future applications such as 6G wireless telecommunication and integrated mm-wave radar. |
2.00pm-2.30pm |
Q&A moderated by Prof. Dr. Valeri Mladenov (Chair) Attendees are welcome to type in their questions in the Zoom Q&A section. Active attendees are possible to win special gifts. 10 winners will be selected and announced after the webinar. |
