Dr. Mariatti Jaafar is currently the Director of the Engineering Campus at Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), a position she has held since 2025. A dedicated academic at USM since 2002 , she previously served as the Dean of the School of Materials & Mineral Resources Engineering (2022–2024) and as Deputy Dean in various capacities between 2016 and 2021. Her area of specialization includes polymers, polymer blends, fiber-reinforced polymer composites, and nanocomposites for electronic applications. Her recent research interests also extend to conductive inks, electronic packaging, and tissue engineering scaffolds. She holds a PhD and B.Eng from Universiti Sains Malaysia, as well as a Licentiate Degree from the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH), Sweden. Prof. Mariatti is a recognized leader in her field, listed among Stanford University's World's Top 2% Scientists (2023–2025). Her other accolades include the Malaysia Research Star Award (2017), the Distinguished Women in Engineering Award (2017), and recognition as a Top Research Scientist Malaysia (2014). She maintains a significant academic impact with an H-index of 56 on Google Scholar and over 12,000 citations.
