Welcome from the Chairs

MDPI is excited to collaborate with the Agricultural University of Kraków to host an exclusive online scientific publishing exchange aimed at empowering researchers with the knowledge and tools needed for successful academic publishing. This workshop will cover key aspects of MDPI’s Open Access publishing, including the editorial workflow, AI in scientific publishing, and publication ethics. Participants will also receive practical tips from experienced editors on how to improve scientific writing and effectively address reviewer comments.

Introduction
Bio
Marcin Biedroń holds an MSc Eng. Degree in Dietetics from the Faculty of Food Technology and Human Nutrition at the University of Agriculture in Kraków, Poland. He joined MDPI in October 2021 as an Assistant Editor for the Diagnostics journal. Since then, he has progressed through several roles, including Section Managing Editor, and was appointed Journal Relationship Specialist in 2024. Over the past year, he has contributed to four medical journals, collaborating closely with editors, authors, and reviewers throughout the publication process. He is currently focused on enhancing the journals’ social media presence, coordinating meetings with researchers and Editorial Boards, and representing MDPI at international conferences across Europe.

Bio
Klaudia Wowra obtained her Bachelor's degree in Animal Bioengineering and Master’s degree in Biotechnology from the University of Agriculture in Kraków, Poland. She joined MDPI in July 2021 as an Assistant Editor for the Animals journal. After completing her AE probation, she began her SME probation in March 2022 and passed in November 2022. During this period, she also served as an Assistant Editor tutor for several new employees. In September 2024, she took over the Ecology and Conservation Section in Animals, becoming the Chief Section Managing Editor. In October 2024, she was promoted to JRS (Journal Relationship Specialist) for the Animals journal.

Maria Sikorska obtained her MSc degree in Biotechnology from the University of Agriculture in Kraków, Poland. She joined MDPI in January 2022 as an Assistant Editor for the Bioengineering journal. During her probation, she handled manuscripts submitted to the following four journals: Bioengineering, Minerals, CivilEng, and Gels. After successfully completing her probation, she began her SME probation in August 2022. In October 2023, she attended her first conference BMES in Seattle. In January 2024, she was promoted to the JRS (Journal Relationship Specialist) position for the Bioengineering journal. Currently, she also serves as a JRS for the Plasma and CivilEng journals. She has attended several conferences since then, further expanding her professional experience.
