MDPI is pleased to collaborate with Universidad Miguel Hernández, Spain to host an author training session that provides essential insights into MDPI and the world of Open Access publishing.
Welcome to this Author Training session, designed specifically for PhD students, early-career academic staff, and mid-career colleagues. This event offers a valuable opportunity to enhance your skills, particularly in the critical area of peer-reviewing for academic journals.
Peer review is a cornerstone of academic publishing, and understanding its nuances not only improves your own research but also strengthens the broader academic community. For many of you, especially those early in your academic journey, this topic will provide valuable insights and practical guidance.

Event Chair
Jose Navarro-Pedreño has been a professor in Universidad Miguel Hernández de Elche (Elche, Spain) since 1997. He is a Guest Editor of journal Geosciences and Sustainability and a Section Board Member of journal Sustainability at MDPI. His research interests mainly include soil–water–plant system, waste management and recycling. His scientific output includes 132 publications, corresponding to 2459 citations
Keynote Speakers
Journal Relations Specialist of Sustainability and Sustainable Chemistry journals
Mrs. Neda Nikolic graduated from Faculty of Biology, University of Belgrade, with MSc degree in Ecology (major: Environmental Protection). She is also PhD candidate at Faculty of Biology University of Belgrade (Theses title: Bryophyte Potentials in Sustainable and Eco-Friendly Agronomy). She joined MDPI in January 2020 as Assistant Editor and later on as Special Issue Editor and Section Manager for Sustainability journal. Neda also worked as Publishing Manager for three journals: Sustainability, Sustainable Chemistry and Muscles journals Therefore, she has gained a lot of experience in the editorial field

Dr. Vesna Marinković completed her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in biochemistry from the University of Novi Sad, Serbia. She completed her Ph.D. in chemical engineering at the same university in 2020. She joined MDPI in May 2020, working as an Assistant Editor and Section Managing Editor for Sensors. In 2022, she was appointed Chief Section Managing Editor for the “Sensor Materials” Section in Sensors. She also works as a Journal Relations Specialist for Sensors, Automation, and Actuators.
