Multiple myeloma management continues to evolve in an ongoing revolution, bringing new challenges and opportunities to daily clinical practice. This webinar will provide updates from EHA 2026, allowing the opportunity to review recent developments and exchange perspectives on current approaches to patient care in smoldering myeloma, frontline, and relapsed/refractory settings.

Prof. Claudio Cerchione is Head of the Myeloma Clinical and Research Group at IRST IRCCS “Dino Amadori” in Italy and Principal Investigator in numerous company-sponsored and independent clinical trials. He graduated with honors in Medicine from the University Federico II of Naples, where he also completed his Fellowship and PhD in Hematology. His main research interests include multiple myeloma and acute leukemias. He has undertaken international research fellowships in Germany, Portugal, and the USA, including MD Anderson Cancer Center, and has been appointed International Ambassador of SOHO (Society of Hematologic Oncology). He serves as editor and reviewer for several international journals, and has authored more than 150 peer-reviewed publications.

Early Diagnosis of Myeloma and Frontline Treatment
Dr Mamta Garg is a Consultant Haematologist at Leicester Royal Infirmary, UK, with expertise in plasma cell disorders and myeloproliferative neoplasms. She has a strong clinical and research focus on multiple myeloma and early diagnosis, and is actively involved in improving clinical practice and GP education. Dr Garg contributes to national guideline development through the British Society for Haematology, including work on thrombocytosis without JAK2, CALR or MPL mutations, and is involved in major clinical research networks and international trials in haematological malignancies. Her research interests include real-world data and translational studies aimed at improving outcomes in haematology patients.

Relapsed/Refractory Multiple Myeloma: Key Updates from EHA 2026
Dr. Vittorio Montefusco earned his MD and specialized in hematology at the University of Bologna. He spent 20 years at the National Cancer Institute, focusing on bone marrow transplantation and multiple myeloma, and has contributed extensively to clinical research with numerous publications in international journals. Dr. Montefusco is a Board Member of the European Myeloma Network, Italy. Since 2020, he has been with ASST Santi Paolo e Carlo, serving as Acting Head of the Complex Structure of Hematology since 2022.

Biology of Multiple Myeloma and New Tools with Potential Impact on Daily Practice: Main Key Updates from EHA 2026
Dr. Vanessa Desantis is a Research Fellow at the Department of Biomedical Sciences and Human Oncology, Section of Pharmacology, University of Bari Aldo Moro, Italy, where she also collaborates with the Section of Internal Medicine. Her research focuses on multiple myeloma and the biology of the bone marrow tumor microenvironment, with particular emphasis on miRNA-mediated regulation, exosome signaling, cancer-associated fibroblasts, and mechanisms of disease progression and drug resistance. She has contributed to multiple peer-reviewed publications in the field of hematology and translational cancer research.
