This webinar is hosted under MDPI’s Journal Cluster of Economics, Finance and Risk Systems in collaboration with the British Accounting and Finance Association, South-East Area group. The theme of the webinar is The Economics of AI: Understanding the Value of Data Input. As data has become a vital production factor alongside traditional capital and labour, artificial intelligence is reshaping corporate decision‑making, financial market dynamics, firm valuation and macroeconomic outcomes.
Bringing together three distinguished scholars—Professor Monomita Nandy, Professor Laura Veldkamp and Professor Douglas J. Cumming—this session bridges macro data‑driven economic theory, fintech innovation, digital‑market governance and empirical finance research. Speakers will deliver interactive presentations exploring core questions including how data generates economic value, measurement obstacles within AI‑enabled financial systems, regulatory implications for digital finance, and emerging research frontiers at the intersection of artificial intelligence, corporate finance and risk. The webinar concludes with an open interactive Q&A to facilitate cross‑disciplinary discussion among attendees.
