Welcome from the Chairs
Cancellation of the 1st International Electronic Conference on Oral Drug Delivery
Dear Colleagues,
Due to a limited number of high quality submissions, we have unfortunately had to cancel this e-conference. However, we still want to offer contributing authors the chance to present their work. As such, we invite you to submit a full paper to Pharmaceutics free of charge.
The Organizing Committee wants to thank you very much for your interest and support.
Kind regards,
***
Welcome Message from the Chair of the 1st International Electronic Conference on Oral Drug Delivery
I take great pleasure to welcome you to the 1st International Electronic Conference on Oral Drug Delivery (ECODD-1). The conference is intended to provide lateral and inter disciplinary programme to cover recent developments in oral drug delivery with a focus on material properties, dosage form design and biopharmaceutics. It aspires to bring together people working on both basic, as well as applied/translational interface of pharmaceutical sciences, thereby providing a platform to develop discussions and collaborations. We hope ECODD-1 would bring debates on oral delivery and consequently generate new ideas of research.
This event aims to focus on studies and strategies that cover the following topics:
- Material Properties for Oral Drug Delivery:
Solid state characterisation, particle surface evaluation, particle engineering,
pharmaceutical excipient functionalisation - Oral Drug Delivery:
Solubility, targeted drug delivery, drug transport and absorption,
paediatric drug delivery - Biopharmaceutics:
Drug-drug interactions, drug efflux, ADME, in vitro and in vivo correlation - Antimicrobial Drug Resistance (AMR) and Pharmaceutics:
Antimicrobial resistance, antimicrobial drug development, opportunities for formulation scientists to combat AMR
The virtual conference would be held at: https://sciforum.net/conference/ECODD-2016, a platform developed by MDPI to organize electronic conferences and discussion groups. The participation is free of any charge. Accepted abstracts will be published in a meeting report. Full papers, if submitted to Pharmaceutics (https://www.mdpi.com/journal/pharmaceutics) for publication after the event, will be processed with priority and no processing fees.
We look forward to receiving your contributions in this unique event!

- If the abstract is accepted for this conference, the author will be invited to submit a PowerPoint presentation of his/her work (only in PDF format), until the submission deadline of 12 November, 2016.
- The abstracts and presentations will be available on https://sciforum.net/conference/ECODD-2016 for discussion and rating during the time of the conference 15–29 November, 2016.
- The Open Access journal Pharmaceutics will publish a meeting report covering all accepted abstracts of the conference.Authors of the most outstanding presentations, as selected by the Scientific Committee, will be invited to publish their work as a research article, free of charge.
- Template of presentation slide is available here.
- Abstracts/Slides/Posters should be submitted in English.
- Please state the full names, titles, affiliations and email addresses of all authors.
- Submission via email will not be accepted.
Authors will be invited to prepare a presentation in PowerPoint or similar software, to be displayed online along with the abstract, after the acceptance of abstract. Slides, if available, will be displayed directly on the website using Sciforum.net's proprietary slides viewer. Slides can be prepared in exactly the same way as for any traditional conference where research results can be presented. Slides should be converted to the PDF format before submission so that our process can easily and automatically convert them for online displaying.
Authors that wish to present a poster can do so in section E - Posters of this conference. Posters will be available on this conference website during and after the event. Like abstracts presented on the conference, participants will be able to ask questions and make comments about the posters.
Authors wishing to publish their full papers after the event are asked to abide to the following rules:
- Any facts that might be perceived as a possible conflict of interest of the author(s) must be disclosed in the paper prior to submission.
- Authors should accurately present their research findings and include an objective discussion of the significance of their findings.
- Data and methods used in the research need to be presented in sufficient detail in the paper, so that other researchers can replicate the work.
- Plagiarism, data fabrication and image manipulation are not tolerated.
- Simultaneous submission of manuscripts to more than one journal is not tolerated.
- Republishing content that is not novel is not tolerated (for example, an English translation of a paper that is already published in another language will not be accepted).
- If errors and inaccuracies are found by the authors after publication of their paper, they need to be promptly communicated to the editors of this journal so that appropriate actions can be taken. Please refer to our policy regarding publication of publishing addenda and corrections.
