Welcome Message
MDPI is pleased to invite Guest Editors, recognized for their expertise across a wide range of disciplines, to participate in the 9th MDPI Guest Editor Club.
This webinar provides a platform to highlight emerging research topics in a comprehensive yet efficient format, enabling Guest Editors to share their editorial experiences and discuss insights gained from leading Special Issues.
The Guest Editor Club brings together Guest Editors from around the world to exchange ideas and showcase research published through Special Issues. The event also offers an overview of the Special Issue editorial process, outlines key aspects of the Guest Editor role, and facilitates discussions on publishing developments within the Biology & Life Sciences subject area.
We look forward to welcoming participants to the 9th MDPI Guest Editor Club 2026.

Quality of Publications Is Paramount: Experiences as an Author, a Peer Reviewer, and an Editor
Madhav Bhatia is a world-renowned expert in the area of inflammation. Research in his laboratory has shown hydrogen sulfide and substance P as mediators of inflammation and potential therapeutic targets for inflammatory diseases such as acute pancreatitis, sepsis, burn injuries, and joint inflammation. He has received numerous grants, has authored more than 200 contributions to the peer-reviewed literature, and has given several invited presentations in different countries. He serves as the Editor-in-Chief of Current Issues in Molecular Biology and is on Editorial Boards of 46 journals. His publications have been cited more than 22000 times, and he has an "h"-index of 77.
Towards Agriculture 5.0: Where Biology & Life Sciences Blend with Computers and AI. Insights and Lessons Learned as a Guest Editor
Dimitre Dikov Dimitrov is a faculty instructor at NorQuest College (Canada). He graduated with his PhD from the University of Alberta (Canada) and specialized in the interdisciplinary area of computational mathematical modelling of hydrological, physical, and biological processes in natural and agricultural ecosystems through coupled hydrology–soil–vegetation–atmosphere continuum. He pursues his research interests via developing and maintaining the modelling and research Internet platform, DIMONA (Copyright © 2019 Dimitre Dikov Dimitrov, Edmonton, AB, Canada) that is a web application with embedded ecohydrological, Internet of Things (IoT) and machine learning (ML) modelling components. DIMONA is designed for: (i) process-based scientific modelling with explanatory and predictive power, driven by meteorological records at various time steps and constrained vs. site observations, satellite and remote sensing data; (ii) IoT real-time modelling coupled to real-time data acquiring from websites with application programming interface (API) end points; (iii) ML data-driven predictive modelling; (iv) exploring the weather and climate, soil properties, hydrology, and biota; (v) applying the above at any geographical location specified by its coordinates. This opens a perspective to expand site simulations to regional scale, with real-time data for current physical, biological, and ecological processes and characteristics of the natural ecosystems and agricultural crops.
