This webinar provides a platform to highlight emerging research topics in a comprehensive yet efficient format, enabling Guest Editors to share their editorial experiences and discuss insights gained from leading Special Issues.
The Guest Editor Club brings together Guest Editors from around the world to exchange ideas and showcase research published through Special Issues. The event also offers an overview of the Special Issue editorial process, outlines key aspects of the Guest Editor role, and facilitates discussions on publishing developments within the Engineering subject area.

Building High-Quality Special Issues in Engineering: Quality, Integrity, and the Responsible Use of AI
Jungpil Shin is a Professor in the School of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Aizu, Japan, where he also serves as Chair of the Graduate Department of Information Technology and Project Management. He received his Ph.D. in Computer Science and Communication Engineering from Kyushu University, Japan. His research interests include pattern recognition, computer vision, image processing, machine learning and deep learning, human–computer interaction, handwriting analysis, and AI-assisted medical diagnosis. He has published extensively in these fields and has served as an editor and reviewer for numerous international journals and conferences. He is an IEEE Senior Member and a Distinguished Contributor of the IEEE Computer Society. He has also served as a Guest Editor for multiple Special Issues covering artificial intelligence, machine learning, pattern recognition, computer vision, sensors, and human behavior analysis. His editorial interests particularly focus on improving manuscript quality, promoting rigorous peer review, maintaining research integrity, and encouraging the responsible use of artificial intelligence in academic publishing.

Dr. Alexandra Bousia is an Assistant Professor in the Business Administration Department of the School of Economics and Administrative Sciences of the University of Thessaly. She received her diploma and master's degree in the Department of Computer and Communication Engineering of the University of Thessaly and her PhD from the Department of Signal Theory and Telecommunications of the Polytechnic University of Catalonia. During her PhD studies, she worked as a Marie Curie researcher on research projects financially supported by national and European organizations. Since 2016 she has been teaching in undergraduate and postgraduate study programs in departments of the University of Thessaly. Her research interests are in the broader area of Business Intelligence and Artificial Intelligence.
