Introduction
Bio
Prof. Dr. Amélia Pilar Rauter, a full professor, was the founder of the Portuguese Society of Chemistry Carbohydrate Chemistry Group in 1992, and the founder (2001) and leader of the CQB Carbohydrate Chemistry Group—FCUL, a center of excellence of the ESF network Euroglycoforum (2009–2014), and Executive of its Interest Group Glycochemistry. Presently, she is the leader of the CQE Carbohydrate Chemistry Group. Her scientific interests are mainly within the area of organic and biomolecular chemistry. They cover the design and synthesis of new leads based on carbohydrate structures with new mechanisms of action, as well as the isolation and structure elucidation of active principles from plants/marine resources. This research led to the discovery of lead molecules for diabetes, degenerative diseases (Alzheimer´s and Prion diseases, cancer), and infection. Her research falls within the global objective of developing creative and sustainable chemistry for better health.

Instructions for Authors

Conditions for Submission
Security Notice
Please note that all official conference emails will be sent exclusively from the @mdpi.com and info@scifourm.net domain.
Please do not respond to any suspicious emails or share personal or financial information through unverified channels.
1. ICOPharm-2 will accept abstracts only. The accepted abstracts will be available online on Sciforum.net during and after the conference.
2. The conference will be held fully in person, it is not possible to participate online.
3. Please note that abstract submission and conference registration are two separate processes.
4. Please use your institutional email address for both processes.

Important Deadline
1. Deadline for abstract submission: 15 January 2027.
2. Announcement of oral and poster abstract results: 19 February 2027. You will be notified of the acceptance of an oral/poster presentation in a separate email.
3.
Covering Author Registration deadline: 5 March 2027.

Please note:
An abstract acceptance email only confirms that your abstract has been accepted. However, the conference chairs decide separately whether your presentation will be oral or a poster, and you will receive another email with the result.
Abstract Submission
Abstract submissions should be completed online by registering with www.sciforum.net and using the "Submit Abstract" function once logged into the system. No physical template is necessary.

1. Choose a session that is best suited for your research.
2. The abstract structure should include the introduction, methods, results, and conclusions sections of about 200–300 words in length.
3. All abstracts should be submitted and presented in clear, publication-ready English with accurate grammar and spelling.
4. Each registration allows submission of only one abstract. However, an author may be listed on multiple abstracts, provided that each abstract has a different registered presenter.
5. All abstracts accepted for presentation will be collected in a book of abstracts, which will be displayed on the website during the conference. If you do not want your abstract to be included in the book of abstracts, please let us know beforehand.
6. Upon submission, you can select if you wish to be considered for oral or poster presentation (or both). Following assessment by the Chairs and Scientific Committee, you will be notified by 19 February 2027 whether your contribution has been accepted for oral or poster presentation.

The poster template can be downloaded here.

Copyright

MDPI, the publisher of the Sciforum.net platform, is an open access publisher. We believe authors should retain the copyright to their scholarly works. Hence, by submitting an abstract to this conference, you retain the copyright to the work, but you grant MDPI the non-exclusive right to publish this abstract online on the Sciforum.net platform. This means you can easily submit your full paper (with the abstract) to any scientific journal at a later stage and transfer the copyright to its publisher if required.

Registration
Abstract submission and conference registration are separate processes. Please ensure that the same email address is used for both abstract submission and event registration.
At least one author (the Covering Author) must register to ensure inclusion of the presentation and publication of the accepted abstract. Failure to complete registration by the Covering Author by the deadline will result in withdrawal of the abstract from the scientific program.
Note: The Conference Organizing Team reserves the right to review, limit, suspend, or decline registrations and participation wherein activity is determined to be excessive, non-targeted, inconsistent with the intended scientific participation model of the conference portfolio, or disruptive to conference relevance, attendee experience, moderation capacity, or operational integrity. We kindly ask participants to register only for events relevant to their field of expertise.
Withdrawal Policy

Any request concerning abstract or proceedings paper withdrawal should be communicated to the Conference Organizing Team as early as possible, preferably prior to final acceptance and confirmation of the conference program. Please note that once abstracts are published in the Conference Report or once Proceedings papers are published in the Proceedings journal and assigned a DOI, they become part of the permanent scholarly record and cannot be fully removed.

AI policy

The responsible use of generative AI tools in the preparation of abstracts, posters, and presentations is permitted; however, any such use must be clearly disclosed, specifying the tool employed and its role. Authors retain full responsibility for the accuracy and integrity of their work.

The submitting (presenting) author is responsible for ensuring that all co-authors have reviewed and approved the submission, including its content and authorship order.
Requests for changes to authorship (including the addition, removal, or reordering of authors) after submission must be submitted using a signed Authorship Change Form, with written consent from all affected authors. Such requests are subject to review and approval by the Conference Organizing Team.
All authors share collective responsibility for the accuracy, integrity, and ethical compliance of the submitted work.
Conflict of Interest

Authors must disclose any financial, professional, or personal relationships that could reasonably be perceived as influencing the integrity, interpretation, or presentation of their work. Failure to provide accurate disclosures may result in the removal of the abstract from the conference program and associated publications.

If there is no conflict, please state "The authors declare no conflicts of interest." This should be conveyed in a separate "Conflict of Interest" statement preceding the "Acknowledgments" and "References" sections at the end of the manuscript. Any financial support for the study must be fully disclosed in the "Acknowledgments" section.

Plan your trip

Lisbon is the capital and largest city of Portugal, set along the Atlantic coast where the Tagus River meets the sea. It is one of Europe’s oldest cities, with roots going back to Roman times and a long history as a major maritime power.

The city is known for its historic neighborhoods like Alfama, where narrow streets, tiled buildings, and traditional Fado music reflect its older character. After the 1755 earthquake, much of central Lisbon was rebuilt, giving the city its mix of historic charm and structured downtown areas. Landmarks such as the Belém Tower and the nearby Jerónimos Monastery highlight its Age of Discoveries past, when Portugal was a global seafaring power.

Today, Lisbon is a lively, walkable city with scenic viewpoints, trams, markets, and a growing food and cultural scene, blending historic identity with a modern European feel.
