7th IJMS Webinar

New Advances in Animal Reproduction

Reproductive efficiency and fertility management remain central challenges in livestock production, wildlife populations, and human-assisted reproduction. Recent advances in assisted reproductive technologies have expanded our understanding of key reproductive processes, including gametogenesis, embryo development, and reproductive physiology, across multiple animal species, including humans. These developments not only improve reproductive outcomes but also enhance genetic preservation, animal welfare, and fertility preservation in oncology patients, among other applications. Therefore, we invite you to attend our webinar, at which we will highlight advances in animal reproduction across varied species, including (but not limited to) cattle, goats, sheep and murine models.

Date: 24 April 2026

Time: 4:00 pm EDT

Webinar ID: 857 1814 5918

Introduction
Bio
Dr. Fernanda Lima Alves holds a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education from the Federal University of Ceará (UFC), as well as a Master’s degree and Ph.D. in Physiological Sciences, focusing on the field of reproduction. She is an expert in male reproductive physiology, with emphasis on investigating the effects of physical exercise on reproductive parameters. She conducts research using experimental models with Wistar rats, including in vitro fertilization (IVF) techniques. She is a member of the FisioRep Lab – Laboratory of Research in Reproductive Physiology. Dr. Liam Alves has published scientific articles in peer-reviewed scientific journals.

Laboratory of Research in Reproductive Physiology (FisioRep Lab), Parnaíba Delta Federal University (UFDPar), Brazil

Introduction
Bio
Dr. Luciana Rocha Faustino is a biologist who trained at the Federal University of Ceará (UFC), holding a Master’s degree and Ph.D. in Veterinary Sciences from the State University of Ceará (UECE), undertaking a doctoral research fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Medical School (USA) as part of her studies. Her graduate research was centered on reproductive biotechnology, with particular focus on oogonial stem cells, as well as the cryopreservation and in vitro culture of ovarian tissue, contributing to the advancement of fertility preservation strategies. She is currently an assistant professor at the Federal University of Delta do Parnaíba (UFDPar). She teaches in the Medicine program, with academic expertise spanning developmental biology, cell and molecular biology, histology, genetics, and reproductive biotechnologies in both animal and human models. She also undertakes research in the field of animal reproduction.
