IJMS Webinar | Molecular Mechanisms of Cardiovascular Inflammation and Metabolic Dysregulation
20 May 2026, 09:00 (CEST)
20 May 2026
Translational Medicine, Molecular Cardiology, Metabolic Disorders, Cardiovascular Inflammation, Biomarkers, Precision Cardiology
Welcome from the Chair
Cardiovascular diseases remain the leading cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide. In recent years, significant progress has been made in understanding the molecular pathways that link metabolic disorders, systemic inflammation, and cardiovascular dysfunction.
This webinar brings together experts in molecular cardiology and translational medicine to discuss emerging mechanisms underlying cardiovascular inflammation, metabolic dysregulation, and their clinical implications. The presentations will highlight novel biomarkers, molecular pathways, and potential therapeutic targets that may improve prevention and treatment strategies for cardiovascular disease.
We hope that this event will stimulate discussion and foster collaborations among researchers and clinicians who are interested in the molecular basis of cardiovascular pathology.
Date: 20 May 2026

Prof. Celestino Sardu is a cardiologist and researcher specializing in cardiovascular pathophysiology, metabolic diseases, and translational cardiology. His research focuses on the molecular and inflammatory mechanisms linking metabolic disorders, diabetes, and cardiovascular complications. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and actively collaborates in international research projects focused on precision medicine and cardiovascular risk stratification.
Invited Speakers
Department of Advanced Medical and Surgical Sciences, University of Campania “Luigi Vanvitelli”, Italy
Dr. Carlo Fumagalli is a cardiologist and clinical researcher with expertise in heart failure, arrhythmias, and cardiovascular risk stratification. His research focuses on integrating clinical cardiology with molecular and biomarker-based approaches to better understand cardiovascular disease progression and improve patient management.
