Welcome from the Chair
We are pleased to announce the 2nd International Online Conference on Games (IOCGA2027), which will occur virtually over two days, from 23 to 24 June 2027.
This conference will focus on the following four sessions:
1. Algorithmic, Computational and Applied Game Theory
2. Behavioral, Experimental, and Cooperative Game Theory and Bargaining
3. Evolutionary Games, Learning in Games, Market Design and Auctions
4. Non-Cooperative Games, Dynamic Games and Equilibrium Theory
The 2nd International Online Conference on Games is organized by MDPI journal Games (ISSN 2073-4336, Impact Factor: 0.7, CiteScore: 1.2). Games is a scholarly, peer-reviewed, open access journal of studies on game theory and its applications published bimonthly online by MDPI.
This event will be held online fully, allowing participants from all over the world to participate without concerns on travel and related expenditures. This conference format is particularly appropriate and useful because research concerned with games is progressing rapidly. A online conference provides a platform for rapid and direct exchanges about the latest research findings and novel ideas.
Participation, as well as the "attendance" of this online conference, is free. Participants will have the opportunity to examine, explore and critically engage with issues and advances in these areas. We hope to facilitate discussions and exchange within the community. Outstanding contributions from each session will have the chance to be selected for oral presentations and may be eligible for conference awards.
Moreover, instead of limiting presentations to a live poster session, all IOCGA2027 participants have the opportunity to upload and display their research in the form of a poster at the poster gallery on the conference website. Kjell Hausken is a professor of economics and societal safety at the University of Stavanger, Norway, since 1999. He holds a PhD from the University of Chicago (1990-1994), was a postdoc at the Max Planck Institute for the Studies of Societies (Cologne) 1995-1998, and a visiting scholar at Yale School of Management 1989-1990. He has published 280 articles, various books, is/was on the Editorial Board for Theory and Decision (May 20, 2007 -), Games (February 21, 2021-), Reliability Engineering & System Safety (January 17, 2012 -), and Defence and Peace Economics (December 4, 2007 - December 31, 2015) and has advised seven PhD students.

Jan Rychtář, Ph.D., is a Professor in the Department of Mathematics and Applied Mathematics at Virginia Commonwealth University. His research interests lie in game theory, evolutionary games, and mathematical biology, with extensive publications in vaccination dynamics. He has co-authored the book Game-Theoretical Models in Biology and serves as an Associate Editor for Games and Dynamic Games and Applications. He is a recipient of the MAA Deborah and Franklin Tepper Haimo Award.

Professor Konstantinos Serfes is a Professor of Economics in the School of Economics at LeBow College of Business at Drexel University. Prof. Serfes is also a Visiting Scholar at the Consumer Finance Institute of the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia and a Member of the Board of Directors at the Athens University of Economics and Business. His areas of specialization include Industrial Organization, Competition Policy, Game Theory, Microeconomics and Financial Economics.

Prof. Ray is an accomplished and highly influential economist. He joined the Economics Section, Cardiff Business School as a Professor of Economics in September, 2014. His area of academic research is Game Theory, Mathematical Economics and Experimental Economics. Prof. Ray had previously taught at the Economics departments of University of York (UK), Brown University (USA) and University of Birmingham (UK). He held the position of the Infosys Foundation Distinguished Chair Professor of Economics in Presidency University, Kolkata (formerly, Presidency College, Calcutta) in India, for two years (January 2019 - January 2021). Research experiences: Prof. Ray works on different topics related to strategic games; in particular, his research focuses on theoretical concepts such as mediation, communication, rationalization and applied topics such as oligopolies, strategic market games, auctions and environmental games. He conducts experiments to test notions such as correlation, sunspots and cheap talk. He has been awarded (individually or a member of a team) a number of research grants from different external and internal funding bodies.

Shun Kurokawa is an Associate Professor at the Graduate School of Information Science and Technology, The University of Osaka. He specializes in evolutionary game theory and the mathematical modeling of altruism and spite. He earned his Ph.D. from University of Tokyo. After completing his doctorate, he held postdoctoral positions at several institutions, including Chinese Academy of Sciences and University of Tokyo. He later served as an Assistant Professor at Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (JAIST) before joining The University of Osaka. His research focuses on understanding the evolution of altruistic and spiteful behaviors in biological systems, using tools from evolutionary game theory.

Professor Ștefan Cristian Gherghina is a Professor at the Department of Finance, the Faculty of Finance and Banking, and a PhD. supervisor at the Finance Doctoral School, the Bucharest University of Economic Studies, Romania. His areas of interest pertain to corporate finance and governance, quantitative finance, portfolio management, and sustainable development. He has authored and co-authored several books and articles published in top journals and has discussed his studies at many international conferences. He serves as a referee for various leading journals while also being an Editorial Board Member of Economies and the Journal of Risk and Financial Management, among other journals indexed by Clarivate Analytics, the Web of Science, the Social Sciences Citation Index (SSCI), the Science Citation Index Expanded (SCIE), the Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI), and other reputed international databases.

An abstract acceptance email only confirms that your abstract has been accepted. Oral or poster presentation invitations are determined separately by the conference chairs, and you will receive an additional email with the presentation result.
If you do not have an account, please register at www.sciforum.net. After logging in, submit your abstract using the “Submit Abstract” button on the conference homepage. No template is required.
Abstract Requirements
1. Types of Submissions
- Accepted: Original research abstracts; systematic reviews or meta-analyses abstracts (must comply with PRISMA 2020).
- Not accepted: Narrative, scoping, comparative, perspective, opinion, or essay-style reviews
2. Content Requirements
- Length: 200–300 words
- Structure: Introduction, Methods, Results, Conclusions
- Language: Clear, publication-ready English
- Originality: Must be original and unpublished; previously published abstracts will not be considered
3. Authorship
All listed authors must have made substantial contributions to the work, participated in drafting or critically revising the abstract, and approved the final version. The submitting (presenting) author is responsible for ensuring that all co-authors have reviewed and approved the submission, including its content and authorship order.
Requests for changes to authorship (including the addition, removal, or reordering of authors) after submission must be submitted using a signed Authorship Change Form, with written consent from all affected authors. Such requests are subject to review and approval by the Conference Organizing Team. All authors share collective responsibility for the accuracy, integrity, and ethical compliance of the submitted work.
Authors may submit multiple abstracts, but only one abstract per author may be selected for an oral presentation.
Presentation Requirements
1. Each abstract must designate one presenter. To change the presenter, please contact us after you receive the oral/poster presentation invitation.
2. Only live presentations are accepted.
3. Presenters who do not attend the live session will not be eligible for awards or presentation certificates.
The slot for the oral presentation is 20 mins. We advise that your presentation lasts for a maximum of 17 mins, leaving at least 3 mins for the Q&A session.
Authors are encouraged to prepare presentations using PowerPoint or equivalent software for online display alongside their abstract. If provided, slides will be presented directly on the conference website via the Sciforum.net slide viewer and should be prepared in the same format as a traditional conference presentation of research results. All slides must be converted to PDF format prior to submission to ensure accurate online display.
- Use a clear and logical structure, typically Introduction-Methods-Results&Discussion structure (IMRaD) or a field-appropriate alternative;
- Emphasize the relevance of the work;
- Support key findings with clear figures or tables where appropriate;
- Conclude with a critical interpretation of the results and their impact.
Each poster should include:
- Brief introduction outlining the research objective;
- Concise methodology summary;
- Main results, supported by clear, well-labeled figures or tables where appropriate;
- Short conclusion summarizing key findings and their relevance.

Note: The uploaded poster may be used as provided and serves as a reference. However, as long as the technical specifications are followed, scholars are welcome to use any poster template of their choice.
Any request concerning abstract withdrawal should be communicated to the Conference Organizing Team as early as possible, preferably prior to final acceptance and confirmation of the conference program.
AI policy
The responsible use of generative AI tools in the preparation of abstracts, posters, and presentations is permitted; however, any such use must be clearly disclosed, specifying the tool employed and its role. Authors retain full responsibility for the accuracy and integrity of their work.
Potential Conflicts of Interest
Authors must disclose any financial, professional, or personal relationships that could reasonably be perceived as influencing the integrity, interpretation, or presentation of their work. Failure to provide accurate disclosures may result in the removal of the abstract from the conference program and associated publications.
If there is no conflict, please state "The authors declare no conflicts of interest." This should be conveyed in a separate "Conflict of Interest" statement preceding the "Acknowledgments" and "References" sections at the end of the manuscript. Any financial support for the study must be fully disclosed in the "Acknowledgments" section.
In accordance with Swiss copyright law, you, as the author, are the original creator of your work and retain full copyright ownership of your submitted abstract.
2. License Grant
By submitting your abstract for publication on the Sciforum.net platform, you grant MDPI, the platform’s publisher, a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive license to:
- Publish, reproduce, and distribute the abstract online.
- Make the abstract publicly available in connection with the conference.
3. Author's Retained Rights
This license is non-exclusive. As you retain full copyright, you are free to:
- Reuse, republish, and build upon your work in any way.
- Develop the abstract into a full paper for submission to other journals or publications.
- Enter into subsequent agreements, including granting an exclusive license or transferring copyright to another publisher for a future version of the work.
4. Author's Responsibility
You remain solely responsible for complying with the policies of any other journal or publisher to which you may submit a subsequent version of your work, particularly concerning prior publication rules. Publication Opportunities
Participants in this conference are cordially invited to contribute a full manuscript to published in Games (ISSN: 2073-4336, Impact Factor: 0.7, CiteScore 1.2), with a 10% discount on the publication fee. All submitted papers will undergo MDPI’s standard peer-review procedure. The abstracts should be cited and noted on the first page of the paper.
