Prof. Dr. Sicco A Bus

Sicco Bus is a human movement scientist, a professor of clinical biomechanics, and a principle investigator at the Amsterdam University Medical Center in the Netherlands. Sicco completed his doctoral dissertation on the structural and functional aspects of the neuropathic foot in diabetes. In his work at the department of Rehabilitation Medicine at Amsterdam UMC, Sicco leads and supervises research on lower-extremity biomechanics and injury prevention in diabetes and sports. Sicco is a member of the board and program leader for Rehabilitation & Development of the Amsterdam Movement Sciences research institute. He is also a member of the editorial board and chair of the ulcer prevention and offloading working groups of the International Working Group on the Diabetic Foot (IWGDF) on guideline development. Sicco is chair of the study group of Neurovascular Complications of Diabetes in the Netherlands.

Dr. David G. Armstrong
Keck School of Medicine, University of Southern California, Los Angeles, CA 90033, USA;
Dr. Armstrong is a Professor of Surgery and Neurological Surgery with Tenure at the University of Southern California. He holds a PhD from the University of Manchester College of Medicine, where he was appointed as a Visiting Professor of Medicine. He is also the Founder and Co-Director of the Southwestern Academic Limb Salvage Alliance (SALSA). Dr. Armstrong has produced more than 700 peer-reviewed research papers in dozens of scholarly medical journals, as well as over 115 books or book chapters.
Dr. Armstrong was selected as one of the first six International Wound Care Ambassadors and has been the recipient of numerous awards and degrees by universities and international medical organizations. He was the 25th and youngest ever member elected to the Podiatric Medicine Hall of Fame. He was the first surgeon to be appointed as a University Distinguished Outreach Professor at the University of Arizona. He was also the first podiatric surgeon to be selected as the President of Faculty at the Keck School of Medicine of USC. Furthermore, he was the first podiatric surgeon to become a member of the Society of Vascular Surgery, as well as the first US podiatric surgeon named a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons, Glasgow. He was the youngest ever recipient of both ADA’s Roger Pecoraro Award (2010) and ISDF’s Karel Bakker Award (2023), which are the highest awards given in the field.
Dr. Armstrong is the past Chair of Scientific Sessions for the ADA’s Foot Care Council and a past member of the National Board of Directors of the American Diabetes Association. He sits on the Infectious Disease Society of America’s (IDSA) Diabetic Foot Infection Advisory Committee and is the US-appointed delegate to the International Working Group on the Diabetic Foot (IWGDF). Dr. Armstrong is the Director of USC’s National Science Foundation (NSF)-funded Center to Stream Healthcare in Place (C2SHiP), the Founder and Co-Chair of the International Diabetic Foot Conference (DF-Con), and the Founding President of the American Limb Preservation Society (ALPS).
