Welcome Message

Dear Colleagues,

MDPI would like to invite all Guest Editors, as esteemed experts in their respective disciplines, to participate in the 8th MDPI Guest Editor Club. This forum intends to highlight exciting topics in a comprehensive but efficient manner to allow Guest Editors to present their experience and discuss their achievements.

The Guest Editor Club will bring together a group of multi-disciplinary Guest Editors from all over the world to present and exchange ideas reported in Special Issues. We have, therefore, put together this platform to aid in your interactions with the journal, leading you through the most important aspects of the role and providing information on what you can expect from the process of editing a Special Issue. We are pleased to provide an exciting opportunity for all of our brilliant Guest Editors to propose and develop new approaches, exchange perspectives, and encourage new lines of research, with a focus in publishing under the Chemistry & Material Science subject.

We will record the lectures, with prior consent from the lecturers, and deposit them in our online database. We will continue to build this database with brief introductions and summaries of topics and open an online discussion group for each GE. We hope that this event is of interest to you, and we welcome you to join us at this forum.

We are very much looking forward to seeing you at the 8th MDPI Guest Editor Club 2025.

How Special Issues Shape Modern Research
Bio
Dr. Sanja Armaković is an Associate Professor at the University of Novi Sad, Faculty of Sciences, Department of Chemistry, Biochemistry and Environmental Protection. She leads the research group Computational and Analytical Chemistry of the Environment (EMOS) and is a co-founder of the online molecular modeling platform Atomistica.online. Dr. Armaković is Vice President of the Board of AIDASCO (Association for the International Development of Academic and Scientific Collaboration). Her research focuses on analytical and computational environmental chemistry, photocatalysis, and molecular modeling of biologically active compounds. She has been included in the Stanford list of the world’s 2% most cited scientists (2024 and 2025) and has received multiple awards for scientific excellence and teaching. Her publication record includes more than 160 papers, with over 5400 citations and an h-index above 44.

Azo Derivatives of Naturally-Occurring Monoterpenes As Innovative Anti-Helicobacter pylori Agents: Synthesis, Antimicrobial Properties and Structure-Based Target Investigation
Bio
Prof. Simone Carradori obtained his PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences from Sapienza University of Rome. Currently, he is working as an Associate professor in Medicinal Chemistry. He has produced more than 300 papers, 15 chapters and two patents. He has been included in the World’s Top 2% Scientists list since 2021. His research activity focuses on the design and development of small molecules as well as chemical functionalization of natural compounds to improve pharmacodynamics or pharmacokinetics. He recently won two national projects on new antimicrobials with innovative mechanisms of action and valorization of human gut microflora to counteract antibiotic resistance.
