Dear colleagues,

MDPI warmly invites you to the 2026 MDPI Topic Editor Club webinar series. This global platform connects worldwide Topic Editors, featuring emerging research themes, practical editorial experience sharing and academic communication. MDPI Topics are interdisciplinary thematic paper collections published across multiple MDPI journals. Led by professional Topic Editor teams and supported by MDPI’s efficient open access publishing workflow, they facilitate academic collaboration and help research reach broader global audiences.

Focusing on Medicine & Pharmacology, this session brings together discipline Topic Editors to showcase editorial work, discuss the successes and challenges of Topic development, and share innovative strategies for building high-impact Topics. It offers a great chance for peer learning and cross-disciplinary collaboration to advance open access research in this field.

Dr. Donatella Rita Petretto

State University of Cagliari, Cagliari, Italy;Donatella Petretto is an Associate Professor of the Department of Pedagogy, Psychology and Philosophy, as well as a former researcher of Clinical Psychology; since 2010, she has been delegated by the Rector of the University of Cagliari for the coordination and monitoring of initiatives in support of students with disabilities (Law 17 of 1999) for all initiatives concerning social integration and the rights of persons with disabilities, specific disabilities and other learning difficulties. A member of the National University Conference of the Delegates of the Rectors of Disability (CNUDD), psychologist, specialist in Neuropsychology and quality referent of the master’s degree in psychology, she has also been a contact person at UniCa for the quality management of the degree course in Developmental Psychology and Socio-occupational Processes. She’s been member of the Board of the Psychology Department and member of the Ethics Committee of the same department, Lecturer in various courses related to disability psychology and clinical psychology. Since 2005, she has taught in numerous degree courses in Psychology, in the fields of disability psychology and clinical psychology, in the Graduate School for Secondary School Teachers, in Primary Education Sciences and in the Health Professions. From the academic year 2019-2020 she is a Neuropsychopathology and Neurorehabilitation professor in the degree course in Psychological Sciences and Techniques.

Prof. Andreas Tsakalof

University of Thessaly, Volos, Greece;Professor Andreas K. Tsakalof School of Medicine, University of Thessaly, Greece Professor Andreas Tsakalof has long-term experience in teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels of medical/clinical chemistry, environmental chemistry and toxicology, and biochemistry, as well as in the supervision of postgraduate and PhD theses and postdoctoral research, research projects. He is the author of manuals and textbooks on these subjects. His research experiences and interests comprise • Application of chromatography and chromatography-mass spectrometry in clinical chemistry, toxicology, and human biomonitoring. • GC-MS analysis of VOC in exhaled air for clinical diagnosis. • Vitamin D in human health and disease. •Fabrication of molecularly imprinted polymers and their application for identifying and isolating bioactive molecules. Professor Tsakalof has a long-standing presence in scientific publishing. He serves as a Section Editor-in-Chief ,member of editorial boards, academic editor, and peer reviewer for more than 16 international journals. His contributions to peer review have been recognized with distinctions, including the “Best Reviewer” award from Toxicology Letters and an Outstanding Contribution to Peer Review Award from Food and Chemical Toxicology.

Ms. Cristina Georgiana Spelmezan

MDPI;Dr. Cristina-Georgiana Spelmezan, holds a bachelor degree in chemical engineering and a PhD in chemistry, both obtained from Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering of UBB Cluj-Napoca. She joined MDPI in 2020, and currently she is a Senior Deputy Managing Editor for several journals.
