Thank you for attending our webinar on Nutrition as a Critical Driver of Bariatric Outcomes. The session addressed key current topics in bariatric nutrition, beginning with pre- and postoperative assessment strategies presented by Dr. Evelyn Frias-Toral (Texas State University, USA), followed by emerging nutritional and metabolic insights after bariatric surgery discussed by Dr. Luigi Schiavo (University of Salerno, Italy), and concluding with an overview of surgical–nutritional interactions in Latin America presented by Dr. Almino C. Ramos (University of Campinas, Brazil).
Dr. Frias-Toral reviewed essential nutritional evaluations across the bariatric pathway, highlighting common deficiencies, evidence-based macro- and micronutrient guidelines, and the importance of tailored interventions and lifelong follow-up. Dr. Schiavo then examined emerging evidence on metabolic adaptations and postoperative nutrient deficiencies, underscoring the need for individualized nutritional strategies. Lastly, Dr. Ramos explored how procedure selection, socioeconomic factors, and access to multidisciplinary care influence nutritional risk in Latin America, and described how telemedicine, digital tools, and regional registries can support long-term monitoring and improved metabolic outcomes.
In this section, you will find the recordings of this webinar to watch, re-watch and share with your colleagues!
