Introduction
Bio
Andrea Ottomaniello received his master and PhD degrees at the Department of Physics at the University of Pisa. His studies focused on the development of terahertz (THz) technologies such as hybrid graphene plasmonic metasurface devices for THz modulation and novel microcavity designs and schemes for the dynamic control of THz quantum cascade lasers. His core expertise is based on micro-nanofabrication technologies, and he is currently a senior postdoc researcher at the Italian Institute of Technology (IIT) in the group of Dr. Virgilio Mattoli, where he works on the development of metamaterial-based technologies for sensing and photonic applications at THz and infrared frequencies via the engineering of fabrication processes which combines multi-photon direct laser writing and thin-film technologies.

Introduction
Bio
Urban Senica is presently a Postdoctoral Fellow at Harvard University in the group of Prof. Marko Lončar, where he conducts research on integrated nonlinear photonics with thin-film lithium niobate and semiconductor lasers. He completed his Ph.D. in Physics at ETH Zurich under the supervision of Prof. Giacomo Scalari and Prof. Jérôme Faist, where he developed an integrated photonics platform based on planarized terahertz quantum cascade lasers, frequency combs, microwave and passive components, for which he was awarded the ETH Medal. His previous research experience includes working on nanowire lasers at TU Munich, radiation-hard semiconductor particle detectors at CERN, and silicon solar cells at the University of Ljubljana.

Introduction
Bio
Aleksandar Demić is a Lecturer at the School of Electronic and Electrical Engineering, University of Leeds, UK. He holds a PhD in Electrical Engineering and specializes in quantum device modeling, numerical simulation, and semiconductor physics. His research combines theoretical physics and advanced software development, with experience in C++, Python, and high‑performance computing. His work has contributed to the optimisation of terahertz Quantum Cascade Lasers and the design of the first intersubband Quantum Cascade Saser. He has authored several peer‑reviewed publications and is currently expanding his research interests toward interdisciplinary directions involving quantum devices and high‑performance computing.
