Imlaymed is a new freeware code that provides a simple approach to addressing the problems of focusing and time depth conversion for the GPR imaging in a layered medium, as well as the problem of the imaging of buried cavities from GPR data. In particular, the different propagation velocities in different layers produce spurious contractions of some targets with respect to others and alter the relative vertical positions and proportions of the targets. Similarly, it is well known that buried cavity appears compressed in a GPR image. Imlaymed mitigates these problems and offers the possibility to work out depth-slices directly in the spatial domain rather than in the time domain. This will be explored in detail at the webinar.
