Welcome from the Chair
On behalf of the organising committee, it is our great pleasure to welcome you to the Wales International Conference on Urban Air Mobility 2026, hosted by the University of South Wales in Cardiff.
As emerging air mobility technologies continue to develop, Urban Air Mobility is becoming far more than a technical aviation issue. It is increasingly a multidisciplinary challenge involving innovation, sustainability, regulation, business models, infrastructure, workforce transformation, public acceptance, and regional development. This conference has been established to provide a platform for bringing these perspectives together in a meaningful and constructive way.
Under the theme “People, Innovation, Sustainability: Building the Business of Future Air Mobility,” the conference aims to foster dialogue between academia, industry, policymakers, and wider stakeholders on how future air mobility can be developed responsibly and effectively in Wales, the UK, and beyond.
The conference will adopt a hybrid format, combining an in-person event in Cardiff with online academic sessions, to encourage both direct engagement and broad international participation. Through keynote speeches, academic discussions, industry dialogue, and publication opportunities, we hope this event will stimulate new ideas, build lasting collaborations, and contribute to the advancement of sustainable urban air mobility research and practice.
We are sincerely grateful for your interest, support, and participation. We very much look forward to welcoming you to this exciting event and to sharing inspiring conversations on the future of air mobility.
With best wishes,
Dr. Tiansheng Yang

Associate Professor and Master’s Supervisor at the First Affiliated Hospital, Zhejiang University School of Medicine. PhD and postdoctoral training completed at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore. Research focuses on oncogene-driven tumorigenesis and targeted therapy, with an emphasis on elucidating the key mechanisms by which tumor microenvironmental features (matrix stiffening, hypoxia, and metabolic reprogramming) regulate malignant proliferation and immune suppression. Over 40 SCI papers published, including more than 20 as first or corresponding author, in top-tier journals such as Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy, Journal of Advanced Research, Journal for Immunotherapy of Cancer, and Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B. Principal investigator of two projects from the National Natural Science Foundation of China (Youth Fund and General Program), as well as multiple grants including the Fundamental Research Funds of the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, Zhejiang Provincial Natural Science Foundation (Exploration Project), Zhejiang Traditional Chinese Medicine Science and Technology Clinical Application Project, and China Postdoctoral Science Foundation. Academic appointments include Member of the Integrated Oncology Committee, Zhejiang Anti-Cancer Association; Scientific Editor of Military Medical Research; Young Editorial Board Member of Hepatobiliary & Pancreatic Diseases International; and Guest Associate Editor for special issues of Frontiers in Genetics.
Registration
The registration for WIC 2026 will be free of charge! The registration includes attendance to all conference sessions.
If you are registering several people under the same registration, please do not use the same email address for each person, but their individual university email addresses. Thank you for your understanding.
Please note that the submission and registration are two separate parts. Only scholars who registered can receive a link to access the conference live streaming. The deadline for registration is 3 September 2026.
Instructions for Authors
WIC 2026 will accept abstracts only. The accepted abstracts will be available online on Sciforum.net during and after the conference.
Important Deadline
1. Deadline for abstract submission: 31 July 2026.
2. Abstract acceptance notification: 9 August 2026.

All slides must be converted to PDF format prior to submission to ensure accurate online display.
Each presentation should:
- Communicate the research question or objective, methodology, key results, and scientific novelty;
- Use a clear and logical structure, typically Introduction-Methods-Results&Discussion structure (IMRaD) or a field-appropriate alternative;

MDPI, the publisher of the Sciforum.net platform, is an open access publisher. We believe authors should retain the copyright to their scholarly works. Hence, by submitting an abstract to this conference, you retain the copyright to the work, but you grant MDPI the non-exclusive right to publish this abstract online on the Sciforum.net platform. This means you can easily submit your full paper (with the abstract) to any scientific journal at a later stage and transfer the copyright to its publisher if required.
