Asymmetric methoxyselenenylation of α,b-unsatured carbonyl derivatives
, , , ,
In this communication we propose a convenient methodology to effect asymmetric methoxyselenenylation of a,b-unsatured carbonyl derivatives using as electrophilic reagents an optically pure sulfur containing selenenyl chloride. Mechanistic aspects of the reaction were investigated and simple manipulation to prepare optically pure derivatives are reported.

Microwave-assisted oxidation of a secondary alcohol using a Gold catalyst immobilized onto gel-supported Ionic Liquid like phases (g-SILLPs)
, , ,
Here we present the results obtained in the development of Au nanoparticles (AuNPs) immobilized on a gel-supported Ionic Liquid (gel-Supported Ionic Liquid like phase, g-SILLP) and their study as catalysts for the oxidation of alcohols. The benchmark reaction selected for this purpose was the 1-phenylethanol oxidation. Besides, the reactions were performed under benign conditions using: Water(as the solvent and reaction medium), hydrogen peroxide (as the benign oxidant agent), microwave irradiation (as the heating source) and supported catalyst (providing a more efficient catalytic process).

Microwave assisted starch oxidation – a ‘green’ way for polysaccharide modification
, , , ,
The aim of the study is to summarize our investigations on combined action of microwave irradiation (2.45 GHz) and hydrogen peroxide to starch. Depending of oxidation condition (microwave power and temperature) a various products can be obtained – from slightly oxidized to deep degraded starches. Possible mechanisms of the microwave assisted processes were outlined.

Cyclooligosaccharide modification applying microwaves. The case of β-cyclodextrin esterification
, , , , ,
Some preliminary studies on microwave-assisted chemical modification of cyclodextrins are presented. As a chemical linkage agent a citric acid was applied. The esterification reaction of cyclodextrin with polycarboxylic acid was controlled by means of HPLC as well as a spectroscopic method for product complexation ability.

Enamines Preparation Under Solvent-free Conditions Catalyzed by LiClO4
,
A simple, efficient, and novel method has been developed for the synthesis of enamines in presence of lithium perchlorate as a catalyst under solvent-free conditions accelerated by microwave irradiation. This method is remarkable by its mildness and by its easily work-up operation.

Oxidative Polimerisation of Aniline Hydrochloride in Highly Viscous Carbohydrate Gels
, , , ,
The synthesis of conducting polyaniline in highly viscous carbohydrate gel was presented. Polyaniline (PANI) was synthesized chemically by means of oxidative polymerisation of ammonium persulfate. The process was conducted in waxy maize starch which contain only branched fraction i.e. amylopectin. Obtained materials were investigated according to its properties.
